Speeding up your Android phone

This week I helped a friend upgrade his Samsung Vibrant to froyo 2.2. His phone was quite unusable from all the lag and I thought it was a shame that he was going through such a horrible user experience with the stock kernel. He simply had too many apps in his phone’s main memory and with no ‘Move to SD Card’ feature in Android 2.1 it was a mandatory upgrade to 2.2.
